Inflation—that’s such a hated word! For makeup lovers, the price hikes have really hit an all time high. With the prices of cosmetics sky rocketing, we can barely afford to buy 2-3 lipsticks in a month while it was not the case a few years ago. When everything in makeup is so expensive, DIY tricks suddenly appear to be so much more valuable. For instance, who would not like to cut on the price of a makeup brush cleanser, isn’t it? You could instead buy a new lipstick with that money!I have never bought a brush cleanser from the market since the day I figured this cool and easy way to clean my makeup brushes. Now you want to know all about it as well, right? So let’s get started without further ado.

What Do We Need To Do?
Step 1:
Take the transparent glass and fill it with a little warm water, up to 2 inches from the base. Transparent glass is a better option because you can judge by the color of the water whether the cleansing is taking place or not. Take just warm water, neither cold (delayed cleansing) nor hot since it will then damage the brushes.
Step 2:
We are using water up to 2 inches level because we want only the brushes to dip in the water and not their handles. That could lead to the pasting getting removed or the wooden handles getting damaged.
Step 3:
Take a shampoo, which you know cleanses your scalp well; so you know it will cleanse the brush hair as well. I prefer using Tresseme’s shampoo.
Step 4:
Pour in the quantity approximately equal to 3 teaspoons.
Step 5:
Mix well and you can see the water turning white because of the presence of shampoo.
Step 6:
Take your favourite smelling conditioner now, so that next time you use the brushes on your face it would give you a feel good fresh odor.
Step 7:
Add approximately 1-2 teaspoons of conditioner to the water.
Step 8:
Mix well with a spoon. The conditioner will take a little longer to get mixed well with water. Some of it will still remain suspended; you need not worry about that.
Step 9:
Add a few drops of vinegar to the mixture. A rough approximation would be half to one teaspoon.
Step 10:
Mix everything well with a spoon or wooden stick.
Step 11:
The water will look frothy and is now ready for your dirty brushes.
Step 12:
Gather your brigade of dirty brushes.
Step 13:
Immerse them in concoction.
Step 14:
Keep aside for 20-30 minutes—that’ll be enough time for the brushes to get cleaned; keeping it for longer durations may harm the body of the brush that is in contact with the water.
After the said time, you can see the water has turned greyish brown. It is time to take the brushes out.
Pull them out one by one, wash under fresh tap water and keep on stacking them on a clean napkin. Let them air dry. Do not use hair dryers or anything that tends to cut down the life of those brushes. Sun drying for sometime is also a good idea.
